Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthy workplace for their employees. OSHA's role is to promote the safety and health of America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual process improvement in workplace safety and health.
The Carpenters Union is more than 520,000 highly skilled men and women throughout the building-trades industries. Carpenters Local Union 608 proudly represents over 7500 carpenters and continues to grow. Local #608 is affiliated with the New York City District Council of Carpenters and The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America which boasts a membership of over 500,000 carpenters.
Empire State Regional Council of Carpenters Local #66 members are provided state-of-the-art education and training opportunities to improve their standard of living. Skill Advancement training is available to help members add to and improve their skills. For over 100 years, the UBC has worked to strengthen our local communities and our organization.
